Run the installation program. 2. See optional post-install steps in ReleaseNotes.txt. ________________________________________________________________ Installing LSSS on Linux 1. Unzip the LSSS installation zip file for linux. The resulting directory is referred to as LSSS_INSTALL_SRC. 2. Install Java a. Make sure Java 8 or newer is installed. An installation file for java is included in LSSS_INSTALL_SRC. The latest version of java can be downloaded from http://java.com/. Or use the package manager of your Linux distribution. b. Set the environment variable JAVA_HOME to the java installation directory. This is preferably done in a startup script, such as .bashrc. This step might be skipped if java is already available on the path. 3. Install dongle driver a. On Debian-based systems, such as Ubuntu: 1. Change directory to LSSS_INSTALL_SRC/sentinel_protection_installer_7.6.1/Debian_support/driver 2. Run sudo ./sud_install.sh b. On RPM-based systems, such as Fedora: 1. Change directory to LSSS_INSTALL_SRC/sentinel_protection_installer_7.6.1 2. Run sudo ./protection_install.sh 3. Select option 1 (Install Sentinel System Driver ...) 4. Install LSSS a. Unzip the LSSS zip-file in LSSS_INSTALL_SRC. The resulting directory is referred to as LSSS_HOME. 5. Start LSSS a. Insert a valid dongle in an USB port. b. Start LSSS by running LSSS_HOME/lsss/LSSS.sh. 6. Optional a. Create a shortcut to the startup script on the desktop using the icon LSSS_HOME/lsss/LSSS.png. b.
